If you have monolids, you know the struggle: most false lashes look like they're sitting on a shelf. They poke straight out, don't blend, and end up looking costumey. Tapered lashes are different. A tapered lash starts with a thicker base and ends in a fine point. That shape works with the natural fold (or lack of fold) of a monolid, because it doesn't create a harsh horizontal line.

WHY TAPERED TIPS WORK WITH MONOLID ANATOMY

Monolids don't have a crease to hide the lash band. That means the band needs to be invisible, and the lash fibers need to point up, not out. Tapered tips are thinner at the end, so they mimic the natural direction of monolid lashes, which often grow straight or slightly downward. When the tip is fine, it gives the illusion of a curl without a heavy "shelf."

THE SPECIFICS: LENGTH AND PLACEMENT

For monolids, the best length is 10-12mm at the center, and 8-9mm at the inner corner. Avoid lashes that jump too quickly in length — you want a gradual curve. Place the lash slightly above your natural lash root, not directly on the waterline. This gives a lifted effect without creating a pop-out line.
