How to Tightline with False Lashes Hidden Seam

WHAT TIGHTLINING REALLY MEANS
Tightlining is the act of pressing eyeliner or eyeshadow into your upper waterline—the part between your top lashes and your eyeball. It fills the gaps between your natural lashes, so your lash line looks fuller and darker without a hard line.
With false lashes, tightlining does something even better: it hides the strip band. The liner acts as a bridge between your natural lashes and the lash band, so the seam disappears.
STEP-BY-STEP: THE HIDDEN SEAM METHOD
- Apply your false lash first. Let the adhesive dry completely before you touch the eye area.
- Lift your chin slightly and look down. Pull your eyelid up gently with one finger.
- With a waterproof gel liner or a pencil, gently wiggle it into your upper waterline underneath the lash band.
- Keep the liner only in the gaps between your natural lash roots. Think “counting the lashes” as you move.
- Once the lash band sits against that waterline liner, the seam disappears.
You’ll notice your lashes now look like they’re growing straight out of your lash line, not sitting on top of it.
WHAT NOT TO DO
- Do not tightline after applying mascara – mascara makes the roots stick together and easier to smudge.
- Do not use thin liquid liner on the waterline – it’s too hard to control. Use a gel pot or a retractable pencil.
- Do not press too hard – tightlining should feel like a tickle, not a stab.

WHAT YOU NEED FOR A SEAMLESS LASH LOOK
The right lash band matters. A thick, rubbery band will always look fake no matter how well you tightline. You want a lash with a thin, flexible band that flattens against your lash line.
