Once you’re in the water, don’t rub your eyes. Pat them dry with a towel. If you follow this routine, your lashes will last through a swim, a nap, and a cabana lunch.

DAY TO NIGHT: THE 60-SECOND TRANSFORMATION

Here’s my favorite vacation hack. You don’t need a full makeup kit to go from poolside to dinner. You just need to change your lash game.

For the day: Wear a pair of wispy, natural lashes. Pair them with a tinted lip balm and a bronzer swipe. You look fresh, dewy, and like you didn’t try (but you did).

For the night: Swap the wispy lash for a slightly fuller pair with a defined outer corner. Add a swipe of champagne shimmer on your lids and a red lip. Boom — you’re ready for the resort steakhouse.

This works because your base (skin, brows) is the same. The only thing that changes is the intensity of your lash. It’s the fastest way to feel dressed up.

THE COMMON MISTAKE THAT RUINS VACATION LASHES

Here’s what I see women do wrong: they buy the cheapest lashes at the drugstore, use the included glue (which is terrible), and then wonder why they’re picking lash fibers out of their piña colada.

Cheap lashes have stiff bands. Stiff bands don’t conform to the curve of your eye. They pop off at the inner corner. When you’re sweating, it’s worse.

Another mistake: wearing lashes for 24 hours straight. I get it — you want to maximize your vacation. But sleeping in lashes will ruin them. They’ll bend, the band will warp, and they’ll be unusable for the rest of the trip. Take them off at night. It takes 2 minutes with micellar water.

• Comfort: You should forget you’re wearing them. If you feel them, they’re too heavy.
• Weight: The lash should be light enough to float if you dropped it in water. Heavy lashes feel like weights on your lids.
• Band flexibility: The band should bend easily without snapping. This ensures it fits your unique eye shape.
• Style: Look for a “natural flare” — shorter in the inner corner, longer in the middle or outer corner. This mimics real lash growth.

Use an oil-based makeup remover or micellar water. Soak a cotton pad, press it on your closed eye for 30 seconds, and the lash should slide off. Never pull them off dry.

Will my lashes melt in the heat?

No. PBT fibers are heat-resistant up to high temperatures. The glue is the weakest link. Make sure you’re using a latex-free, strong hold glue.

Can I reapply lashes after swimming?
