How to Pack and Apply Lashes for Vacation

THE 5-ITEM PACKING CHECKLIST

Vacation lashes have different needs than home lashes. You're in a new climate, you're out all day, and you might be around water. Here's exactly what to pack:

1. Two lash pairs minimum. One for beach days, one for dinners. You'll thank yourself when one gets ruined.
2. Full-size lash glue. Mini tubes dry out fast in warm climates. A full-size glue tube lasts 2–4 weeks of regular use.
3. Tweezers. You need to fix that corner when the hotel mirror is too far or too dark.
4. A compact mirror. Hotel mirrors are rarely well-lit or at the right height for lash application.
5. Micellar water + cotton pads. For quick removal after a long day. Don't rely on soap and sink water.

APPLYING LASHES IN A HOTEL ROOM

Hotel rooms are objectively bad places to put on lashes. Bad lighting, weird mirrors, no proper desk. But you can do it — here's how:

• Face a window. Natural daylight is the best light source for lash placement.
• Use your phone selfie camera as a close-up mirror. Zoom to 2x and hold your face at eye level.
• If the room is dark, turn on every light — bathroom light + main lamp + bedside lamp. Then hold a hand mirror above you so the light hits your face from above.
• Don't apply right after a hot shower. Your skin is dewy, and glue won't grip. Wait 10 minutes.

MAKING THEM LAST THROUGH POOL, SAND, AND SUN

Vacation is the harshest environment for false lashes. Here's what actually keeps them on:

• Water-resistant doesn't mean swim-proof. If you know you're getting in the water, skip the lashes and use a waterproof mascara instead.
• Heat softens glue. If a lash loosens mid-day, press it down for a few seconds. That usually re-adheres it.
• When you remove them at night, wipe with micellar water, pat dry, and store in the original lash tray. Don't leave them loose in your bag.
• Never clean your lashes with tap water on vacation. Chlorine and salt residue can break down the band fibers.
