Most faces are not perfectly mirrored. When makeup artists study a face, they usually find a 2–3 mm brow-height difference between sides. That small gap is enough to make one eye look more open, one lash line look longer, and one outer corner look higher.

You can balance your eyes without shaving off your natural lash line. You just need to place the strip in the exact spots your own eyes ask for.

WHY ASYMMETRY HAPPENS (AND WHY IT'S NORMAL)

THE 3 PLACEMENT ADJUSTMENTS THAT CHANGE EVERYTHING

Before you buy a different pair, try moving the strip. These three adjustments work with almost any lash you already own.

Drop the higher side. Place the strip 1–2 mm lower on the eye whose lash line sits higher. Lower does not mean on your waterline. Just below your natural root changes the optical line.
Angle the outer end. If one eye points upward more, let the outer tip of the strip sit 2–3 mm further toward your temple. This softens a lower outer corner.
Trim one side only. Most people need one strip shorter than the other. Cut 2–3 mm from the outer end of the strip on the higher eye, then test again.

THE 10-MINUTE BALANCE CHECK

This is the same check I use before any lash application:

Pull your hair back and remove all eye makeup.
Look into a mirror at eye level.
Close each eye separately. Notice which brow sits higher.
Hold the strip up to each lash line. Mark the exact inner and outer points with a tiny dot of pencil on the strip.
Trim only where the mark tells you to.

This takes 10 minutes the first time. It takes three the next.

Trim whichever end makes the strip match the natural lash line. Most people with one higher brow need to shorten the outer 2–3 mm on the higher side.

Sometimes. If your eye heights differ by more than 2 mm, you may adjust one strip more aggressively. Keep the same style; just change the trim.
