HOW TO APPLY FALSE LASHES LIKE A PRO IN 5 STEPS

STEP 1: MEASURE AND TRIM (THE 15-SECOND RULE)

Take the lash out of the box and hold it against your upper lash line. The lash should start at your inner corner and end at your outer corner. If it extends past your outer corner, trim the excess. Always trim from the outer end, not the inner end. This takes 15 seconds and prevents poking.

STEP 2: THE SECRET TO HOLDING THE LASH

Most beginners hold the lash from the ends. That causes them to twist and bend. Instead, hold the lash gently from the middle using your thumb and index finger. This keeps the lash curved to match your eye shape and gives you control when placing it.

STEP 3: APPLY THIN GLUE LINES, NOT GLOBS

Squeeze a thin line of lash adhesive along the full band. Wait 30 seconds for it to become tacky. A tacky glue grabs the lash immediately, so it will not slide around. Resist the urge to add more. More glue means more mess and longer dry time.

STEP 4: PRESS FROM THE MIDDLE OUTWARD

Place the lash on the middle of your natural lash line, then press the outer corner, then the inner corner. Use a finger or tweezers to press the lash gently onto your skin for 10 seconds. This middle-first approach keeps the lash aligned with your eye curve.

STEP 5: THE FINAL BLEND (MAKE IT YOURS)

Now brush your natural lashes and the false lash together with a clean spoolie. This fuses the two sets and hides the lash line. Add a thin coat of mascara only if you are comfortable. Then look straight ahead and check that both lashes are even.

WHAT TO LOOK FOR IN A PRO-STYLE LASH

When you are practicing these steps, a few lash qualities make everything easier. A flexible band is easier to press and hold. A clear or invisible band helps your glue dry faster and hides mistakes. And a lash that is already trimmed to a natural curve will sit better on your eye.
