How to Trim Lashes for Small Eyes (Step-by-Step)

Do your strip lashes touch your eyebrows or poke the corners of your eyes? It’s not you — most lashes are made for average eyes. A 36mm lash strip can drown a small eye shape. Here’s how to fix it in 5 minutes with scissors you already own.

WHY LASH STRIPS LOOK WRONG ON SMALL EYES

If every set of false lashes you try has to be cut down just to stay on your lid, you already know the problem. Most strip lashes are 36mm across. A small eye shape needs 25–30mm. When the band is too long, the lash drags past your natural eye line. That makes your eyes look heavy, sleepy, or too far apart. The fix is not more glue. It is trimming.

HOW TO TRIM STRIP LASHES (STEP-BY-STEP)

Hold the lash strip over your lid. Use tweezers at the inner corner. Mark the outer corner with your finger — do not cut yet.
Cut from the outer edge in small slices. Start with 2mm. Try again. You can always cut more, but you cannot uncut.
Cut at a slight angle so the lashes taper toward the corner. A flat cut makes the lash look fake.
Test the fit without glue. It should stay in your lash line without pressing your eyelid.
Curl your natural lashes together with the strip after trimming. That makes the seam disappear.

If your eyes are round, trim more from the outer section to create a lifted 'kitten eye'. If your eyes are hooded, only cut 1–2mm from the band, not the lashes. The best results happen when the lash band follows your eye's natural curve without lifting at the corners.

WHAT TO CHECK BEFORE YOU TRY A PRE-TRIMMED PAIR
