HOW TO FIX A LASH LIFTED AT THE OUTER CORNER

how to fix a lash lifted at the outer corner

You know the feeling: you've applied your lash perfectly, you walk into natural light, and the outer corner is staring back at you. This is one of the most common lash struggles, and it's almost never about the lash itself — it's about how your outer eye socket is shaped. Your outer corner naturally curves downward, and the lash band wants to follow a straight or upward curve. That tension is what causes the lift.

WHY YOUR LASH KEEPS LIFTING AT THE OUTER CORNER

If you have hooded or deep-set eyes, the crease of your eye pushes against the lash band. When you blink, the lash is physically pressed upward. That's also why one side lifts more than the other. The second cause is too much moisture in the adhesive. When you apply the lash before the glue is tacky, it slides and the outer corner rises as it dries.

5 FIXES THAT ACTUALLY HOLD FOR HOURS

  1. Cut the outer corner into a point. Trim your lash along the outer edge so it tapers to a soft point instead of a blunt edge. A pointed tip integrates smoothly with your natural lash and sits flush against the skin.
  2. Apply extra adhesive specifically to the outer corner. Dot a small amount of additional lash glue on the last 3mm of the lash band. Wait 15 seconds until it's tacky, then press it down with your fingertip.
  3. Use a lash glue with a stronger hold. Not all lash glues are created equal. Look for a formula that explicitly says "waterproof" or "long-wear" — those usually contain cyanoacrylate, which dries harder and holds longer.
  4. Press the corner downward for 30 seconds. After applying, gently press the outer corner in a downward angle toward your natural lash line. Count to 30. That few seconds of pressure makes all the difference.
  5. Switch to a lash with a curved band. Some lashes are designed with a built-in curve that matches your eye's natural contour. Those are less likely to lift on the outer corner.

HOW TO PREVENT LIFTING IN THE FIRST PLACE

Clean your lash lids with oil-free cleanser before applying. Oil from sunscreen or makeup breaks down the adhesive. Also, re-tighten back the lash after 30 minutes of wear. Our lids produce more oil during the first few minutes of wear as a reflex. A quick press at the 30-minute mark resets the bond.

WHAT TO LOOK FOR IN A LIFT-FREE LASH

Look for a lash band that's transparent or thin, and a style with a shorter outer corner (8–10mm) instead of a heavy winged silhouette. Also, check that the lash's curvature is visible when it's resting in the tray. If it stays perfectly flat, it will lift on your eye.

Can I use eyelash glue to fix mascara?

No, lash glue is not safe for mascara application. Use it only for false lashes.

How often should you clean lash bands?

After every 3 wears. Too much adhesive buildup can make the band stiff and actually cause more lifting at the corner.

What if my natural lash is very straight?

Curl your natural lashes before applying. Straight lashes don't support the false lash, causing the corner to pop up.
