You know the drill: you open a new lash strip, hold it up to your eye, and half the strip hangs off the edge. You think your eyes are too small. But actually, you just haven't trimmed them. And trimming isn't hard — it's a 30-second fix that changes everything.

WHY TRIMMING IS THE SAVIOR YOUR LASH STRIPS NEED

Most lash strips come in a standard 36mm to 40mm length. That's because many eye shapes need extra length at the outer corner. But your eyes are your eyes. If you skip the trim, the lash rides too far past your natural lash line and pulls at the inner corner. Trimming also flattens the band curve, so it hugs your eye like a custom frame.

THE 3 MEASUREMENTS YOU MUST TAKE BEFORE CUTTING

• Eye width: Measure from the inner corner to the outer corner of your lash line. Typical adult eyes are 25mm to 32mm.
• Desired wing length: Decide if you want a wing. If yes, add 2mm to 3mm only at the outer end.
• Band curve: Verify your lash curve matches your eye. A flat band on a curved eye will poke. You'll trim the outer end, not the inner.

HOW TO TRIM FOR ALMOND, ROUND, AND HOODED EYES

• Almond eyes: Cut 2mm from the outer end and 1mm from the inner end. Angle the cut slightly upward at the outer corner.
• Round eyes: Cut only from the outer corner. Keep the inner end full so the eye stays balanced.
• Hooded eyes: Trim the outer corner 1mm shorter than your wing plan. This keeps the lash from sliding under your hood and losing visibility.
