5 LASH MATERIALS THAT ACTUALLY HOLD UP IN SUMMER

• Synthetic silk — less porous than natural hair, so it doesn’t retain as much moisture. Keep in mind: “silk” is often a marketing term, so check the band width instead.
• Thin but structured bands — the material matters less than the band. A clear flexi-band is lighter and makes the lash sit closer to your natural lash line, reducing the torque that pulls the lash off when you blink.
• Flare-style individual lashes — because they’re shorter and lighter, they have less leverage for gravity and sweat to pull on. If mega-volume glam always melts, flare clusters may survive.

HOW TO APPLY LASHES FOR 12+ HOURS OF SUMMER WEAR

Even the most heat-resistant lash will fail if the prep is rushed. Do this in order:

1. Wash your hands and gently cleanse your lash line with an oil-free cleanser. Wait 60 seconds for it to dry.
2. Hold the lash up to your eye and trim the outer edge if needed. Individual lash length should never extend past your natural outer lash by more than 2–3mm. That extra leverage catches wind and causes lifting.
3. Apply a thin, even layer of lash adhesive along the band, then wait 30 seconds until it’s tacky. Tacky means stronger.
4. Press the band onto the middle of your lash line first, then pinch the inner and outer corners. Hold each for 10 seconds.
5. Seal the ends with a tiny dab of eyeliner or clear lash sealer. That’s your insurance policy.
