Most lash guides skip the most important step: eye shape. Prominent eyes sit slightly forward in the socket. They read as large, round, and bright. Deep-set eyes sit farther back. The brow bone is stronger and the visible lid is smaller. These two shapes need completely different lash styles.

I have lash clients tell me all the time: “My lashes always poke my brow bone.” That is a deep-set eye wearing a prominent-eye lash. Or: “My lids look heavy no matter what.” That is a prominent eye wearing a deep-set lash map. Both are easy fixes once you know your shape.

LASHES FOR PROMINENT EYES: WHAT ACTUALLY WORKS

Prominent eyes need lashes that lift and center. The longest point of the lash should sit around the middle of your eye, not the outer corner. This creates an “open eye” effect and stops the outer corner from pulling your face down.

• Look for styles with extra length at the center (10–14 mm)
• Choose a C or CC curl — it lifts straight lashes so your eyes look more awake
• Avoid heavy volume at the outer corners. That drags prominent eyes down and makes them look tired.

• Focus length on the outer third (10–13 mm) to widen the eye

Stand in front of a mirror. Look straight ahead. Can you see the first fold of your eyelid?
