How to Layer Lashes for Extra Volume

STEP-BY-STEP: HOW TO LAYER LASHES LIKE A PRO

1. Choose two lashes with different lengths. Use a longer pair (12mm) as the base and a shorter pair (8-10mm) for the top. Both should be wispy, not solid.
2. Curl your natural lashes first. This step matters because false lashes will follow the direction of your natural curl. Straight naturals make fake lashes look separate.
3. Apply the base lash with a thin strip of glue. Wait 20 seconds, then press it onto your lash line as you normally would.
4. Let the base lash set for 30 seconds. Then add a small amount of extra glue onto the base band (not your eyelid) and press the second lash slightly above it, angled up and outward.
5. Blend with one swipe of mascara. This bonds the two pairs together and hides any gap. Use a very light hand.
6. Seal the outer corners with a tiny dot of glue. The outer corner takes the most abuse, so double-check that area.

WHAT TO LOOK FOR IN LASHES YOU CAN LAYER

Not every lash is meant for stacking. You need pairs with thin, flexible bands and fine fibers. If the band is too thick, you’ll feel the layers and they’ll ride up on each other. If the fibers are too stiff, they won’t blend together. Also, look for lashes with a natural curl — a deep curl might make the stack look clumpy.
