Lash Vacation Kit: Travel Sizes and Regulation Rules
CAN YOU FLY WITH LASHES AND GLUE?
Yes. Strip lashes themselves are allowed in carry-on bags. The packaging doesn't count as a liquid. But lash glue does. It has to be in a container no larger than 3.4 ounces (100 ml) and fit inside your one clear quart-sized bag. Tweezers, lash curlers, and lash applicators are allowed, as long as they don't have sharp blades longer than 4 inches. Scissors with blades under 4 inches are fine too. Checked bags allow larger glue containers, but aerosols are banned in checked baggage.
NOT SURE ABOUT YOUR EYE SHAPE?
Take our 60-second quiz and we'll match you with the perfect lash style for your unique eye shape — no glue, no commitment.
TAKE THE QUIZ →TSA RULES THAT TRIP PEOPLE UP
- One bag, not one pouch per person. Your glue, mascara, and any lash serum all share the same quart bag. If you can't zip it, you'll lose points.
- Pressure changes can cause glue containers to leak. Wrap a small piece of tape over the cap or put the glue inside a mini zipper bag.
- Travel-sized doesn't always mean TSA-safe. Check the bottom label for the exact fluid ounce. Some small tubes are still over 3.4 oz.
THE 5-ITEM LASH PACKING LIST
- 3 pairs of strip lashes—for a week, you'll want a backup.
- Travel-sized lash adhesive—under 3.4 oz, with the cap taped.
- Precision tweezers—the slanted tip kind, safe to fly.
- Lash curler—only if you use it before applying. Use it in the hotel bathroom, not on the plane.
- Foldable mirror—arm's length lash application is a nightmare.
WHAT A TRAVEL LASH KIT NEEDS TO SAVE YOU
After all these rules, the real test is: does your travel kit let you get ready in a taxi, a hotel bathroom, or the airport lounge? A good travel set should have the mini tools and the right size glue tube, plus a case that keeps everything in one place. You shouldn't be digging through a makeup bag for a pair of lashes at 6 a.m.
TSA & TRAVEL FAQ
Can I bring magnetic lashes through TSA?
Yes. The small magnets are not listed as dangerous, but they can sometimes set off the metal detector. Put them in your quart bag to be safe.
Do I need to pack lash glue in checked baggage?
No. Carry-on is actually better because checked baggage can experience pressure changes that cause leaks. Use the 3.4 oz size and tap the cap.
Can I wear lashes through security?
Yes. If they have a metal band, you'll just take a quick secondary check. No need to remove them before the scanner.
