HOW TO REMOVE OLD GLUE FROM FALSE LASHES
You finally got the perfect lash application โ then at the end of the night, you ripped the pair apart trying to peel off the dried glue. Iโve been there, and Iโve thrown away way too many good lashes because I was in a hurry.
The good news: removing glue from false lashes is easy if you stop pulling. In about 5 minutes, you can get your favorite pair clean and ready to wear again.
WHY YOUR LASHES DONโT SURVIVE THE FIRST WEAR
- Youโre picking at the band while the glue is still hard.
- Youโre using cotton pads without soaking the band.
- Youโre pulling from the corner, which twists and breaks the lash fibers.
THE GENTLE WAY TO REMOVE OLD GLUE FROM FALSE LASHES
- Soak. Place the lashes in a small dish of oil-based makeup remover or micellar water. Let them sit for 4 to 6 minutes. The glue will soften and look milky.
- Remove the lash band. Using tweezers, gently peel the softened glue from the band. It should come off in one or two long pieces.
- Scrape residue. Use the flat side of the tweezers to scrape any remaining bits while the band is still soaked.
- Rinse and dry. Rinse the lashes under warm water, then lay them on a clean paper towel to dry completely.
- Store them. Put the dry lashes back into the original case to keep their curl.
WHAT NOT TO DO (OR THE 10-SECOND LASH DESTROYER)
- Never pull the lash apart while the glue is dry. Youโll snap the band.
- Donโt use acetone โ it melts the band and leaves a greasy film.
- Donโt soak the lash in hot water โ heat warps the curl.
- Donโt rub the lash on a towel to dry it. Youโll crush the fibers.
WHAT TO LOOK FOR IN REUSABLE LASHES
If youโre going through the trouble of cleaning, you need a lash that can actually handle it. That means a flexible band that doesnโt warp after a soak, fibers that donโt peel or bend, and a design that holds the curve through multiple uses.
Thatโs where PHANSTA LASHES truly shines. The band is made from a material that wonโt crack when you remove glue, and the fibers keep their shape wear after wear โ which is why Iโve had the same pair for over a year.
