HOW TO FIX AN INNER CORNER THAT LIFTS
WHY THE INNER CORNER LIFTS IN THE FIRST PLACE
The inner corner of your lash lifts. You press it down. It stays for a minute, then pops up again. You press it again, and by the third time, you're late. This used to happen to me on every important occasion. So let's fix it properly.
A few reasons, in order:
- Your eye's inner corner is naturally curved. A straight lash band won't hug that curve.
- You're applying adhesive to the band, but not to the exact inner 3mm.
- The lash band is too long. It reaches past your inner eye edge and has nowhere to attach.
- Oils from your skin break down the adhesive at the inner corner faster than anywhere else.
THE FASTEST FIX (STEP BY STEP)
- Remove the lash from your outer half first. Don't rip the whole strip off.
- Add one thin layer of lash adhesive to the inner 3mm of the band. Wait 20 seconds for it to get tacky.
- Press that corner directly against your natural lashes, not onto your skin.
- Hold it down with your fingertip for 15 seconds. Steady pressure helps the bond form.
- If it still lifts, use a clean spoolie to push your natural lashes down onto the band and hold for 10 seconds.
HOW TO PREVENT IT FROM HAPPENING AGAIN
- Trim the inner corner on a slight angle so it follows your eye shape.
- Apply a tiny amount of makeup primer on your inner corner before wearing lashes. It controls oil.
- Use a waterproof adhesive, not a flexing one. It holds up better against skin oils.
- Replace your lashes every 2–3 months. Old glue residue and frayed band cause lifting.
This routine helps you wear lashes all day without ripping out your natural ones on the way out.
WHAT TO LOOK FOR IN A LASH STYLE
When you choose lashes for a long day, look for:
- A tapered inner corner, not a blunt straight edge.
- A thin, flexible band that curves on its own.
- No extra glue on the inner tip from the factory.
- A lash tray with multiple lengths so you can test fit.

Why does only the inner corner lift?
The inner corner is the most curved part of your eye and also has active oil glands. Both make the adhesive break down faster.
Can I fix a lifting lash without taking it off?
Yes. Press the corner down with a clean fingertip and hold for a second. If it lifts again, take off the outer half, add fresh adhesive to the inner 3mm, and reapply.
How do I get inner corner lashes to stay on hooded eyes?
Choose a lash with a tapered inner corner, trim it to your exact eye length, and use a drop of primer on that corner to control oil.
