How to Apply Lashes to Downturned Eyes Without Drooping

THE 4-STEP METHOD THAT HOLDS ALL DAY

This takes about 90 seconds and works for strip lashes and lash clusters.

Prep your lash line. Wipe the entire lash line with oil-free micellar water. Oils break down adhesive faster than anything. Press a dry tissue against your eye for 30 seconds so it's completely dry.
Trim from the inner edge. Most people trim from the outer corner and wreck the balance. Instead, trim excess from the inner edge of the lash. Keep the outer corner long so it extends 1-2 mm past your natural lash line.
Tilt the lash at 15 degrees. Place the inner corner first at the base of your natural lashes. Then gently lay the outer corner down with a slight upward lift from your fingertip. The band should curve upward, against your eye's natural downward dip.
Pinch and hold for 10 seconds. Use tweezers to pinch the band onto your natural lash line, working from inner to outer. Then rest your finger on the outer corner for 10 full seconds. This lets the adhesive bond while the lash is angled upward.

That last step is where everything changes. The 10-second hold is what keeps outer corners from lifting.

3 MISTAKES THAT MAKE DROOPING WORSE

Using a heavy lash. Full-volume, hard-band lashes add weight where your eye already dips. Lighter is always better.
Skipping the oil-free prep. Even a tiny bit of leftover face oil breaks down the adhesive at the outer corner first.
Pressing the lash straight inward. Pressing perpendicular to the lash line flattens the glue. Press upward at a slight angle instead.

WHAT TO LOOK FOR IN A LASH FOR DOWNWARD EYES

Your next lash purchase matters more than your technique. Look for three things:

A soft center band. A flexible middle lets the lash hug your natural curve without snapping upward or dipping.
Lightweight outer corners. Heavy fibers at the end drag the band down. Featherlight tips let the lash float, not sink.
A tapered edge. Lashes that taper to a fine point at the outer corner create the illusion of an upward lift.
