False Lashes for Brides Who Wear Glasses: The Complete Guide

Don't skip them. You can have lush lashes and clear vision. You just need to know a few lens-friendly rules.

MEASURE YOUR LASH LENGTH BEFORE YOU BUY

Your glasses frame sits roughly 4 to 6 millimeters from your lash line. If your lashes extend beyond that, they'll touch the lens. For most brides, an 8mm to 12mm lash is perfect. 14mm or longer will likely touch.

Measure from the inner corner to the outer corner of your eye. Divide by two. That's the average lash length that fits best.

CHOOSE A CURL THAT LIFTS WITHOUT EXTENDING

A D-curl points straight up, which usually clears glasses because it doesn't project forward. A J-curl hugs your lash line and may stick into the lens. For glasses wearers, D-curl or L-curl are the safest choices.

PLACE THE LASH SLIGHTLY HIGHER ON YOUR EYE

Instead of sitting directly on your lash line, place the band about 0.5mm to 1mm higher on your eyelid skin. That gives you more space between the lash tips and the lens. It also opens up your eye for photos.

SKIP LONG FIBERS AT THE INNER CORNER

The inner corner is closest to your glasses bridge. If you place a long, thick lash there, it will hit the lens every time you blink. Keep the inner corner at 6mm to 8mm and gradually lengthen toward the outer edge.

TEST WITH YOUR ACTUAL FRAMES

Before the wedding, do a full trial run with your glasses. Take a mirror and look straight ahead, to the side, and up. If lashes touch, trim 2mm from the outer edge and reapply. Test different lens angles too. Large frames give more clearance; small frames are trickier.
