1. Lift your chin and look down into a mirror, so your waterline is visible.
2. Use a firm kohl pencil or a tiny angled brush with powder. Soft pencils smudge and skip.
3. Gently lift your upper lid and dot the liner between the lashes, starting at the inner corner.
4. Press the liner into the upper waterline. Keep pressure soft — you’re not drawing on skin, you’re filling gaps.
5. Repeat on the lower waterline only if your eye shape allows. For hooded eyes, skip lower waterline to avoid closing the eye.

Lengthening lashes plus tightline gives you that “no, I’m not wearing extensions” glow.

WHAT TO LOOK FOR IN A TIGHTLINE-LASH COMBO

Not every “long” lash style works with tightline. If you’re using individual lashes or wispy strips, they need to have enough spacing between fibers so tightline can anchor the look. Lashes that are too dense will look heavy and will cover the magic. I look for a lash that has a thin band and separated strands — the kind that shows the tightline through the roots.

In other words, your lashes and liner should work together. The liner builds the base. The lashes build the length. One without the other is a half-finished look.
