She once bought a lash kit because the box doubled as a cute storage case. But when she opened it, the applicator was missing. She tried using her fingers and ended up with one lash stuck to her eyelid and the other glued to her sweater. Twenty dollars gone, and she still looked like a startled muppet.
Another time, she got smart and bought a "travel-friendly" lash organizer for $18. It was so bulky it took up half her suitcase, and the lashes slid out of the slots anyway. At the hotel, she spent 20 minutes digging through her toiletries bag for the applicator—it had slipped out and was hiding under her toothpaste. The glue had also leaked all over her brush.
Then she tried keeping everything in one makeup bag. It worked for a week, until the bag turned into a black hole. She bought a pack of five applicators on sale, but they were so slippery she dropped her lashes into the sink twice, and one applicator snapped in half on the second use. She gave up and went to the party without lashes. "It's unreal. I've spent over $60 replacing stuff I already have and still can't find an applicator when I need one. I just want one kit that has everything—and actually stays together," she says.
